yeah this is how i'm feeling about it. it's painfully slow, but i am so excited for the unique features it talks about. i'm just not sure if it's slow bc the implementation is that way or if there's another factor to it
@adobo there was an issue after the last deploy but that's now fixed, I suggest giving it another go to get a better idea of how it currently performs

I believe CalcKey and Misskey support this via Like activities having a single emoji as content. At least if I understand reacji correctly. litepub.social has it as an EmojiReact (Akkoma does this if my memory is good).
I just realized that there is a "simple" solution to all my woes on implementing cryptography in the browser. I can just study all the typescript files found at https://github.com/signalapp.
There's a decent chance that they are doing it correctly.
Alright. #Bonfire is definitively not ready for serious usage. The campground is super slow. However I think the potential is huge. I love the fine-grained control circles and boundaries seem to give you. Especially the circles will allow to seperate different interests better without the need for a dozen accounts. I'll keep watching.

Does somebody feel like doing a huge service to the Fediverse developer community? I got just the issue for you. First, I consider this to be difficult to do well. One needs to pick good names for stuff, in order to lessen the amount of generated confusion (see discussion and link). Second, I consider this easier than actually documenting/specifying the behavior correctly. That's because Gherkin/BDD is documentation by example. So it's enough to provide examples that tell a good story.
