Working on the user preferences to include in the 1.0, do you think we're missing something ? what aspect, feature or behaviour you'd like to furter customize or control in a federated social network?

Sorry, the function do_handle_event/3 in module Elixir.Bonfire.UI.Social.FeedLive didn't receive the data it was expecting
#error
@Rlaimondas that should be fixed now
in the last bonfire update we've added the possibility to reproduce audio / video directly in bonfire while browsing the feed...
here a nice electronic track from bandcamp
- So I was basically wondering if Bonfire would integrate OpenBadges OOTB? For example, and this is just a thought experiment, I could show my Moodle badges but also as e.g. a Bonfire beta tester, or my blog's contributors could show their support (because for starting creatives everything's a transaction, but I won't paywall my work)?
More than out of the box, I imagine we could have a bonfire_openbadges extensions that instances can enable.
Post 1.0 - it would be great if part of bonfire roadmap would be driven and funded by communities needs 😊
no, we added filters and sorting option for feeds and threads.
At the top left of the page you can select the feed (my feed, local, remote, ...) on the top right you can choose how to sort posts (chronological, by amount of replies, by amount of boosts, ...) and filter by time (posts created in the last day, week, month, year, all time)
You probably are on "My Feed" - looking at posts created only in the last week (which is the default settings)
in next iterations we will make those defaults configurable in user preferences.
Are the old posts gone?

We've just released the bonfire 0.9.6 - read more on our blog bonfirenetworks.org/posts/re...

Hello Bonfire!
@Esurio hello!
📣 New Blog post ➡️ Making things intuitive is complex! Or, what we discovered via user testing.
A big Thank you to doug who run the User testing sessions and to all the people who registered and participated. The feedback we received was invaluable in highlighting areas for improvement.

AFAICT: Bonfire is the only ActivityPub (AP) protocol with ValueFlows (VF) included in the protocol spec. I came here because of my understanding of that fact. VF is not yet implemented in the Bonfire instance-- just the protocol documentation.
These are the resources I've followed that got me here:
https://www.holochain.org/projects/
https://hrea.io/
https://mothership.disco.coop/DisCO_and_Valueflows
https://www.valueflo.ws/appendix/usedfor/
What information path did you follow to get here?
I'd be happy to be informed otherwise of a more robust implementation of VF in AP. I don't know of one more potentially entwined than Bonfire. My intent is to stick around and participate in whatever way is useful to help move VF effectively into the Fediverse. Plus, I donate $10/mo to the hREA development effort.
It's fairly easy to see it's early days here.
@CynthesisToday @mayel @dcht00 we developed some initial demo of extensions using VF, like a kanban, offer/need bullettin and inventory system, among other experiments. We currently put the VF development in hold to release the bonfire core fearures (boundaries, roles, discussions) and then get back to it.
Small thing, but in dark mode it would help if there was a border around the compose window (see screenshots for example of difference after I manually added one)
@BonfireBuilders #bonfire_feedback
@dajb done 😊
💥 👋 We’re looking for volunteers to help us with some user research. We’re particularly interested in hearing from a diverse range of people who may be interested in using Bonfire in a personal or professional capacity .
You do not need any particular technical knowledge, skills, or prior experience of Bonfire. The user research interviews will be carried out in English by Dynamic Skillset ( @dajb )
here the full blog post: https://bonfirenetworks.org/posts/user_research/
ah interesting, nested replies in reverse cronological order (newer first) may confuse the discussion...
In this screenshot, my "agree" comment was directed to @mayel first comment (see the date time), while instead in this visualisation seems referred to @lne comment (that was more recent than my reply)
It works 😀
And we'll be adding an editor role to use boundaries & circles to collaborate on posts!
🚀 Reflecting on a productive week focused on enhancing discussions on Bonfire!
Here our major improvements:
✨ Give a title to your discussions
📊 View discussion metrics for better insights
🔍 Read discussions seamlessly with an optimised legibility experience
✏️ Bonus: Edit posts!
Next week, we'll focus on federating threads and iterate with the community to squash bugs and enhance user experience.
Hello World 😉
@KazukyAkayashi welcome 🤗
🔥 We've just rolled out a new feature: thread titles.
Add a title to your thread - either initially or add it later as discussions develop and edit it if the discussion takes another direction. We're exploring if this offers more context to discussions, driving better user participation and streamlining discussion management. Try it and let us know what you think!
With this entry, <1 day of engagement here. Enticed by some posts by https://xn--ocane-csa.fr/ on #Mastodon and their website. I've only just started to read https://bonfirenetworks.org/docs/ and https://www.w3.org/TR/social-web-protocols/
See document: https://www.platformaccountability.com/proposal, then scroll to the bottom. It shows some suggested measurements and some objectives for those measurements. Some for within a post/thread and some situated elsewhere TBD. The white paper contains more detail.
So sorry to be commenting without completely reading the specs first. Understood this particular comment period was for 2 weeks, and unsure I could finish and grok the specs in time to have a worthy basis for comment. I couldn't find a reference to the platform accountability document anywhere in the #Fediverse yet (but that be my weakness in search skills here). Wanted to be sure this work was known. Seemed like there were at least overlapping goals in the bonfire measurement goals noted here and the platform accountability goals.
@CynthesisToday @mayel the White paper looks extremely interesting...thanks for sharing, will read it over the weekend and get back to you 😊
