THE WAR ON MOTORISTS A BIG HAUL SCARBOROUGH. I At Scarborough County Police Court yesterday, fewer than five motorists appeared in answer to summonses charging them with ' having furiously driven their cars to the danger of the public. Mr. G. E. Royle, who prosecuted on behalf of the police, stated that in consequence numerous complaints the North Riding police had taken pre- cautions to with the evil. A quarter of a mile was measured out on the most frequented highways and two constables provided with stop-watches were I stationed at each end of that distance, lmmediatelv a car passed watches were stopped and by comj paring the timepieces the speeds the vehicles were determined.
