No it's not. That last post was part 4, and I said it was the end, but this is part 5 and really the end...
This is an afterthought to the #bonfire threaded conversations thread, where I clicked on a message in the Discussions list, and it opened the whole thread, as a lovely indented list!
Took a long time to repond so that might have happened in other lists, but I am out of time for this experiment today.
But that was a lovely indented thread presentation! Thank you, Bonfire gang!
Anyway, that last message should have been part 3, and this is part 4 and the end....

This is one of the places where Bonfire's slow response to each of the feed-filling selections gets in the way.
But it looks like all of my messages in this thread appear in Activities and Discussions, but only the first message appears in Posts.
Does that seem accurate?
Any other documentation about how conversational threads work in Bonfire?
#bonfire #bonfire-feedback #bonfireFeedback ?

Part 3: what to these 3 selections in the left panel mean?
Activities, Posts, Discussions.
Activities and Posts seem to show posts from everybody. Are Discussions different? Let's see if I can tell. Answer in next message, so I don't lost this one...

Part 2: I vaguely remember, but might have imagined, a feature that allowed me to show all the posts in a thread. Does that exist? If so, how to access it?

I wrote a long post and lost the whole thing when the text box disappeared. I'll try again but less verbose and maybe more shorter posts so I don't lose so much work.
So this might be part 1 of several.
I am interested in features that allow me to follow conversational threads in #bonfire - like in Mastodon you can click the three dots at the bottom left of a post, open a little selection menu, and select "Expand this post".

"Imaginary time is indistinguishable from directions in space. If one can go north, one can turn around and head south; equally, if one can go forward in imaginary time, one ought to be able to turn around and go backward. This means that there can be no important difference between the forward and backward directions of imaginary time. On the other hand, when one looks at “real” time, there’s a very big difference between the forward and backward directions, as we all know. Where does this difference between the past and the future come from? Why do we remember the past but not the future?"

@Oceane Sean Carrol says time is just events ordered by entropy. the big bang was in the past because the universe had lower entropy than today, tomorrow is tomorrow because it will have more entropy than today.
We made some benchmarks and some improvements but still not found the root cause 😔
@ivan thanks. Let me know if you want me to participate in any tests. That's probably the best I can do to help. Doubt if I can find a root cause...
Which error?
@ivan

It was full-screen, or at least very big. I don't remember an error message. Went away fast when I clicked.
If I see it again, I will make sure to save the details.

@helge@mymath.rocks Just trying to figure out if I can reply from bonfire.
@stpaultim I tried to post a reply but got a full-screen error message. Trying again. Maybe we can find another time.
Which error?
Are y'all working on performance improvements? Seems slow, but I have not measured it. I'd be happy to participate in some performance testing if we could incorporate some good measurements.

I appreciate the offer, but Sunday is not looking good for me. I'm supposed to be playing board games with my kids. If that falls through, I may ping you because I like the idea of collaborating on this.

Do you have some time on Sunday? Maybe we could try some experiments to test out how they work.
