that was me at lockdown

bicycle mechanic at a recumbent & adaptive shop.

A few months, and boss found a buyer for the biz.
"I'm done"

I get it.

we shipped the inventory & closed the shop.

Took me months to realize I was unemployed

so
i retired

Thing is:
I *could* have continued working.
I had folks who wanted to hire me.

But I was early-eligible for drawing soc sec.

So *any* job, even part time,I could have taken, would have been a job someone who wasn't eligible couldn't take.

as a (late admittedly) boomer

the best thing I can do

is get the heck out of the way.

Whatever I can do -if asked- to help folks coming up do better than my generation did.
& else, stay out of the way.
