I've been tying neckties pretty regularly since I was about 14 years old, and it still took me well into adulthood to learn:

- The right length for a necktie
- To use the four-in-hand knot … sparingly
- The importance of a good dimple
- That ties look better loose
- That paying a little more is worth it

Don't let your young people make the same mistakes I did.
