bicycle mechanic at a recumbent & adaptive shop.

A few months, and boss found a buyer for the biz.
"I'm done"

I get it.

we shipped the inventory & closed the shop.

Took me months to realize I was unemployed

so

Thing is:
I *could* have continued working.
I had folks who wanted to hire me.

But I was early-eligible for drawing soc sec.

So *any* job, even part time,I could have taken, would have been a job someone who wasn't eligible couldn't take.

@TanteGulo Jau, det er jo litt kulturforskjeller oppi det hele også. Typ jeg kan ingen navn på fotballspillere fra den perioden, fordi vennegjengen min brydde seg om Nintendo-spill, ikke ballsport. Husker noen bytta hockey-kort på den tiden også, men jeg ante ikke hvem noen av de på kortene var. (Akkurat som det _er_ mange boomers som ikke har noe forhold til Rolling Stones, kanskje utover å være lei av å forventes å ha et forhold til dem.) @boolsen@nilshenrik

@syklemil Eg (f. 1980) er vel ein såkalt xennial. Eg likar mykje av dei same kulturelle artefaktane som X, men opplever at eg i større grad deler verdiar med millennials. Ein del sånne seinnittitalsgreier som Pokemon og Harry Potter er eg rett og slett for gamal for, men eg hugsar at småsyskena mine var opptekne av det. @TanteGulo@boolsen

"Slim majority" is a legit bullshit framing. 53% support and 22% opposition is a "slim majority" in a technical sense, but it would be just as true to say that only a tiny minority of capitalism-poisoned freaks oppose the #uaw

@syklemil Really? Kan ikkje seie eg har påstått at det ikkje finst millennials som var hekta på pokemon, eller at eg ikkje visste at det fantest. Det sagt, så var det noko mine tre yngste søsken fødd 88-96 likte. Pokemon starta i 1996, og tv-serien kom til Norge i 2000. Da var eg 14-18 år. Absolutt ei tid eg var for ung for ecstasy og følte meg for vaksen for pokemonkort/-serie. Ingen av mine vener dreiv med det. Pokemon var ikkje definerande for 90-talet for min del. @boolsen@nilshenrik
