feedback so far 🙂

  1. During profile creation, if a user enters a username/handle first before the name field, the handle field is overwritten by the name field. Expectid behaviour: since the handle field was edited already, editing the name field shouldn't affect the handle field.
  2. In the profile settings page, it's not clear if the avatar and cover are being uploaded or processed. It took me a couple of tries to notice there was an upload percentage progress, however, after it reaches 100% it disappears and still takes a while to show the uploaded avatar or cover.
  3. Still in the profile settings page. The "alias" section was confusing. I tried entering @youronlyone@c.im but I got a no response error (I'm assuming it's not federatid yet since this is a demo instance), so I tried entering a URL instead. That broke my profile settings page. 😅 I thought it was for links but I guess not.

@coyote @youronlyone thanks a ton!

⁂ Article

Intro post. Checking out the Bonfire.

OK - it's first post time. Traditionally, one introduces oneself and puts some kind of hashtag, like #intro #introduction or #newHere

I'm really interested in Bonfire, and how it's adopted a bit of a 'wait-and-see' vibe, whilst quietly getting on with making their thing. Let's see how it goes.

For those that care, I'm also on Mastodon and BlueSky but most of my stuff goes on my own site - [LRG.io]( https://l

The missing text is explaining feedback №3. When the webfinger did not work, I tried a URL. I thought the alias section was for links, and clicking alias will activate a new field to give the link a custom name after the system verifies it as legit. But instead it broke my settings page and can no longer use it — which led me to realize it was not meant for as links.

@youronlyone

Wow your profile page is completely unreachable for me. When I click your username I just get an error page.
